Athena Percussion began when college friends Megan Campbell and Emma Kieselhorst were hoping for a chance to perform together once again, for the first time since DCI Finals in 2022, when they had last marched together.

They quickly realised, after University, these opportunities become very few and far between, and if they were at all possible, always required an intense financial commitment and hours of travel and participation in some outside organisation.

What if it was possible for Women+ Percussionists to regularly collaborate together, on their own terms?

Athena Percussion hopes to make bringing Women percussionists together a regular event, making both collaborative performances and general artistic endeavors more accessible. We hope that in the future, nobody will notice if a concert is all Women+ - we hope to make it just as normal as the alternative.
